Sorry havent posted in awhile . getting back to work and things been crazy…. One of my favorite ferals, Smokey has not been seen in almost 2 weeks.. it will be 2 weeks Wed night…. One of the things you have to deal with when loving ferals, is that you can keep them safe always.. You can make life easier , give them love shelter food and water but at the end of the day, they are still wild in a sense, and sadly there are dangers.. With Smokey I feel that he might have been sick.. He has always been frail and thin… very skinny in the beginning when I first found him. or he found us… he was the first cat we seen when we moved here.. Will probably never know what happened.. What is hard is the not knowing, but when this happens at a point you got to let go, and truest no matter where they are safe and happy.. On happier news everybody else in the colony is doing well.. I even saw one of Selena kittens who is all black and maybe I will call him lil smokey… not sure yet… ❤
I know this is about Feral s but i put that little dog on here cause he was the latest animals ( and there are so many cats that have been dumped in Chester Pa….. this happens all over not so much i would think with cute poodles ( but it does ) been 2 there in Chester in a few weeks.. Pits all dogs and most of all cats…. people moved leave behind in there house.. or just dump them outside to fend for themselves.. this poor baby was put in a trash can with the lid on knowing that the trash pick up was yesterday.. thankfully the trash man looked before he dumped the dog in the truck.. he is safe thanks to a great friend on my page. Concetta had just saved another poodle and pit a few weeks ago… and now the poodle…. thankfully with doing feral and some rescue work i have found awesome people who help rescue cats and dogs… Kimba ( i just named him that cause he looks like my Kimba from a kid.. will be rescued by All 4 Paws Rescue in West Chester Pa…. but this happens all the time in Chester and not just there all over… I dont know the answers on how to stop this but there has to be a solution. this is animal abuse and I know in Pa that does get punished, but I dont know how to get them prosecuted.. most dont leave a forwarding address.. but something for all of us to think about… How to stop dog s cats and others pets just abandoned and left behind like trash : (
Today when feeding the one colony when I went to change the water ( I do leave water out ( maybe not anymore) but when i went to dump it I noticed it was a dark pink. I dont know if it was something from the trees ( berries maybe) that fell into it or somebody put poison in it or just kids messing with the water… I kind of just was dumping it and than noticed it was pink and only had a little water left which I am saving… but calling the SPCA there really isnt anything that can be done if it is poisioned cause theyre is no way of knowing who did it.. I am praying it was nothing and none of the cats drank from it.. it s just kind of a wait and see thing. I could take the little water to a vet ( but dont have the money for testing) please just keep a eye out on your ferals.. dont leave food out look for food that might be left from somebody else and maybe not leave water out unless you know the cats are near it….. will keep you posted.. just saying prayers nothing bad will come of it.. and gonna keep a better eye out… Ferals have enough to deal with, people shouldnt be one of them…
First I want to say if i didnt respond to any message left it just that I am just learning my way around the blog ( site) and missed many .. (trying to catch up on them… I will read them all…. ty for all the respones and post… I really appreciate them all…. will find my way around my new blog… just taking some time….melanie
